Salad With Cherry Tomatoes, Feta Cheese, Cucumber, Sweet Onion, Carrot, Beet, Red Bell Pepper, Green Bell Pepper, Red Olive Oil, Oregano or Thyme, and MR. O'S SAUCE (Any African red sauce will suffice).
West Africans, especially Nigerians, love our red sauce. Because west African love and use red sauce, I often wonder if red sauce originates from Africa. Every family in Nigeria and probably west Africa has its unique recipe and particular way of preparing red sauce. And there are many ways African red sauce is served or used in preparing other food like the Jollof rice.
I decided to take a risk with the African red sauce. I made this salad with cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, cucumber, sweet onion, carrot, beet, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, red olive oil, and MR. O'S SAUCE (Any African red sauce will suffice). It's time for the world to know what we African offer in terms of food and our belly! It's 2022. It's time to chop salad with African red sauce! Why not? Other cultures' do, and we think it's fabulous! Why not African red sauce.
Recipe:
Cherry Tomatoes (slice into two or as desired)
Feta Cheese (cube and thickness depends on you)
Sliced Cucumber
Sliced Sweet Onion
Sliced Carrot
Sliced Beet
Sliced Green Bell Pepper
Sliced Red Bell Pepper
A teaspoon of Olive Oil (or MR. O'S RED OLIVE OIL)
Two Tablespoon of Any African Red Sauce (or MR. O'S SAUCE)
Instruction:
To prepare your salad with African red sauce, slice your cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, cucumber, sweet onion, carrot, beet, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper to the desired size. I like mine, chunky. Combine your mixtures and place in the refrigerator to chill for 15 minutes (or desired time and temperature). After 15 minutes, it is time to serve. Sprinkle a teaspoon of olive oil (or MR. O'S RED OLIVE OIL), and then top with your African red sauce (or MR. O'S SAUCE).
